Best Department Stores to Shop

Hello everyone!

Summer has began and I'm sure all of you are foaming out the mouths ready to shop for this season (weird analogy?). Anyway, every time a new season starts, I find myself broke and homeless because I can't help but spend all my money on everything I see. The start to a new season will always be the time when all your favorite stores stock up on the latest trends; all of which us girls can't help but purchase. Window shopping quickly turns to: buy everything. But have no fear, you can stop crying now, because what's better than being broke, is saving a couple bucks at the less expensive stores i.e. department stores.

Yes, yes, I know. Department stores are for your weird aunt and grandma. But everyone and a while (especially during a season change) department stores pick up a couple of trends. I've gone to Wet Seal and Forever 21 a couple times this summer, and realized that a lot of those dresses you can purchase at these mainstream stores are knocked off at department stores like T.J. Max.
Also, I don't know if you guys ever have this problem… but there is a limited size selection on all the popular items in the teen stores because girls frequently buy the same dress in your neighborhood. And I cannot stand when I see another girl wearing what I have on! I digress a little… but the point is that at department stores things are purchased in bulk to last longer.

I know a lot of department stores are messy, (aka Ross) but taking the time to look can soooo be worth it as opposed to getting one 20 dollar top or two or three tops for the same price.

Checking the material from certain department stores can also be a good idea. You don't want to wash your fringe blouse and take it out to see it has all fallen apart! Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing on these teen stores, I shop at them all the time! But when I am looking to splurge, I think the way to save money is to go for department stores, the clearance rack there will always be cheaper than at stores like Rue 21. You can buy so much more with just spending a little more time looking! When I shop, I want to come home with outfits for dayssss and it just doesn't seem logical to me to spend too much money at  a Wet Seal when I know I could buy buying more for less elsewhere.

Caution/Tips
This place is visually an appealing department store, (on the occasions I have gone) but let me tell you, you have to look soooo hard in this store. Nothing is really organized by dress, blouse, shorts, etc. The sizes are separated but a lot of the same blouses are spread out into different sections. Another thing that is a little difficult about TJ Maxx is there sizes are soooooo small. I'm usually around a small, sometimes a medium for length, but at this store I only try on larges. I'm not sure why their sizes are so small, but they definitely do have some very cute clothes! Taking time to look is worth it, just try everything on before you make the purchase! Also, their shoe sales are very good! And their size go up to 11, which is great because it is so hard to find cute shoes for my size because I'm so tall. So if you are a 9-10 this is a place to go! They also have half sizes which is comforting:)

Ross is for sure superrrr cheap. Although it is literally the most organized department store, their prices are super cheap. With some time put aside to search through the racks, I wouldn't knock out this department store as a place to shop.

JCP isn't a commonly shopped at store in my town. So I like that I can go there because there will be a smaller chance I'll see someone else in the same outfit. JCp's sizes also have reasonable sizing. I like to buy shoes from here because it isn't a common place to shop for shoes!

Heyyy you guys! Guess what new trend I found and love love love!

Patterned shorts have been showing up in a lot of stores this season. It's not too complicated of a trend, everyone wears shorts! But what makes this trend so cute is how simple and easy it is to wear! This look is going to go great this summer and I've already seen some really cute outfits that I just have to get my hands on!!
This elephant pattern on these shorts are so chic and cute! Very easy to style, could be worn with any color blouse! I saw these in a small boutique in my neighborhood but they were a little pricey! Although I don't doubt that soon they will be sold in cheaper stores considering how fast this trend is catching on.
These chevron and tribal print shorts are my favvvv. Let me tell you how much I love tribal print. So the fact that this print is still in and going strong makes me one happy girl! I'm glad to know it is still in :)
These are the only pair of shorts I've seen with this cut. It may be difficult to pull off for some body types, but the splash of neon color just send this outfit over the edge! Crop tops are in this season so these shorts would be a great look to pair it with.

I'm not a big fan of lace, but these shorts I've been seeing I love so much! They're simplicity are so cute and easy to wear.

Hope you like and keep up to date with my posts:) It's been a while since I've posted on here but finals are so time consuming. Hope everyone is ready for sumer I know I am ;)

Sheinside Sweatshirt Review

Hey everyone!

So I ordered this sweatshirt a while ago offline. I personally enjoy shopping online, but I know it can be a bit scary or frustrating because you haven't tried it on! Does it fit? Will it look as good in the picture as it does when it comes in the mail? Is the website even reliable?

Well from my experience with http://www.sheinside.com, they take a long time to deliver, and everything is one size fits all (what the heck?!). I actually emailed the company about my purchase because it took so long, I was mortified and positive that the site was a scam. The reason it takes so long to deliver is because it is shipped from another country. The site is reliable as far as I'm concerned, it just takes a couple weeks. But I can also say that the sweatshirts I got from offline fit perfectly, and the one that I'm reviewing today is literally the most comfortable sweatshirt I have EVER worn.
But enough talking right? Here's the review I'm doing on one of the sweatshirts that I adore.

The first picture has a filter on it, but please believe me when I tell you that the picture on this sweater is literally soooo clear. They're are even flecks of purple in the eyes, it is such a high quality print it amazes me. I'm seriously not exaggerating. I have washed it plenty of times and the dye on it doesn't wear off. The quality photo remains the same. 5 star for real on the picture! This sweatshirt is my favorite because the inside of it is incredibly soft. I can not express to you how soft it is. And again, I have washed it and the soft white fur on the inside doesn't matt up or shed. Really soft.
But the worst thing about this sweatshirt, is that after time the black material gets cotton balls. Mainly on the heavy traffic areas. And by that I mean the back of it, and the arms. It's black, so it doesn't look dingy or ratchet, it's just the fabric it's made with isn't so high quality. There aren't any cotton balls on the front where the lion is, but elsewhere, cotton balls may appear.
That is the only negative I found in the sweatshirt, when I bought it was $32. Judging by the quality of the fabric, by no means it should have been that much. Now the price is $25, I'm sure it will go down again, for what it is worth, I would recommend this sweatshirt.

Update: More Spring/Summer Trends

Although I'm an active lover of the fall/winter season, I think it may be time to pack away all my sweaters. It's a tough idea to face, I even wore a Christmas sweater today. But on the bright side of things, spring colors this season are so soft and pretty. I can't wait for summer, only 45 days left in the school year for me! How about you? :)

Killing two birds with one stone on this one. One trend coming back from the dead this season is wide leg trouser. Although I don't recommend this look to everyone, it's great for my fellow tall ladies. I think for those under average height could pull it off in some cases, but these pants might swallow you up! The next trend recurring this season is that hattttt, omg I love it these hats. They are great to keep the sun from your face if you don't want a tan like me, (although I'm sure most of you do) but it also can prevent an ugly sunburn! These hats are just so chic I really love them and have to get one this season!

Crop tops are going to reinvent themselves this spring, although I'm against midriff being worn by common people like myself, if you can pull it off rock it!

Now of course Converse never go out of style, but I think these shoes have taken a leap into the blog world of fashion. This spring/summer season I think a lot of outfits coming out will be wearable with Converse.
I think rompers will go strong through this season. They're so cute and it doesn't matter how tall or short you are, they will always be cute! Semi-related side note: wearing a sheer/light infinity pairs great with rompers! That third look has my heart.

These are only a few trends I've noticed for the upcoming season! I can't wait for spring/summer shopping and for this ugly humid Texas weather to go away!

I HATE Floral!

Hey you guys! It's been a while sense I've posted, how is everyone?

Okay, so I get the floral is a huge trend, it seems like it has been going on for a while, and hasn't fell of yet. But still, floral reminds me of my grandma, and I'm not wearing anything that reminds me of a 50 year old couch!

But……

I recently went to Wet Seal (although you should know the same print is also sold at Forever 21 and I think Rue 21 as well) and I'm actually really into the sunflower floral print! For summer I think this print will continue the floral print trend. For the first time yesterday, I wore a floral dress, who knew!

I know that black nails don't seem like a spring trend, but I think is cute! And of course I know black hasn't been a leading color trend for nails in a while but did you see the picture???
This may be a controversial blouse, but I like! Although pairing it with some denim jeans would tone down the stretched print a little, these grunge blue jeans in the picture would also look cute! For a warmer spring look, this would be super cute with some high waisted either stone wash shorts or regular black shorts.
I actually prefer the black background with the sunflower pattern. I think it make the flowers pop and it's kind of edgy in a sweet way! You could take this print to so many styles and I think that's what's most interesting. This skirt can be found at tillys, and I think would be paired great with any white or maybe even creme blouse.
If you are really into the floral pattern, I think you'll enjoy the sunflower with a white background, it's a fresh look and I think it would be super cute for spring.
Can we just take a moment to admire how beautiful these pants are? They can be found on asos.com and I haven't seen any similar pants with a navy blue background. Personally, I'm a lover of harem pants still, they're so comfortable and so easy to wear. I seriously want these, how about you? Buy me a pair?
If the heavy floral print seems too busy for you, this subtle blouse is super cute and tones down the print nicely!

I hope I gave you a little inspiration, and if you like my blog please follow and support it, tell your friends and check in daily for a new blog :)

New Trend: Overalls ??

Hey you guys! Hope you're all having a lovely day!
Lately, I've been noticing the overalls trend being pushed. What do you all think about the trend? I personally can't see many people being able to pull that style off, I think overalls are hard to style! And frankly, the remind me of my childhood which I try to forget! Maybe I'm the only one whose been noticing this trend that's being hyped… ?

If I were to get into this overall craze, I like the shorts better than the pants, they look more spring like! It's kind of vintage and that style is still kinda going strong this season. Florals and the whole Frida Kahlo inspiration is hyped all over social media. I think it can be cute, but it is certainly not my cup of tea, I'll leave that up to women like Lana del Ray!

Flower child looks go well with overalls, but they can also be a chill dress down look for the spring and traveling! Not to mention an outfit like this is very cheap and I'm all about saving!

If you're not a flower child, there are grunge approaches to wearing overalls. The look below is so cool and edgy. It's a nice play on the overall style that I wouldn't have consider to look so cool! Wearing high tops or ankle boots like in the photo below would be a good look with overalls. Another shoe that I think would go great with this trend are sneaker wedges. If street and urban style is your type of hype, I say you should try it!

Another interesting play I saw on the overalls were this scarf! A cute infinity scarf looks simple chic and pretty comfortable. If you don't want to wear heels wearing vintage red shoes would also pair well with the striped shirt and scarf.

Ultimately, there are a lot of different ways to style this trend, and the fact that you could go to your local Goodwill to buy a high fashion outfit being sported in magazines like VOGUE sounds like a deal breaker to me! I guess I would have never guessed for overalls to become a trend, but fashion can definitely surprise you! I think it's a pretty innovative idea that could be styled with a lot of creativity, or even simplicity if just paired with a plain ol' t shirt. I kind of hope the trend picks up, it would be interesting to see more styles for this look!

Hope I helped, xo

Leave me comments about what you think of the upcoming overall trend!
